Tacoma FamilySearch Center is closed for briefly for Thanksgiving Break and a couple weeks during Christmas break each year. We are open 33 hours per week with volunteers to help. Mon & Friday Groups by appt.: Additional Times Available By Appointment

American American Family History Focus Group

This is a monthly meeting held the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month. It is open to anyone interested in African American Family History Research. 6:30pm is a meet & greet and small training, then at 7pm the group moves to work on their own Research on the computers with opportunity to help each other. Last month's meeting had Tamu Smith's story about African American/Native American connection and DAWES Rolls Research, followed by rich discussion, friendshipping.
Connected "My Town" Tacoma Project Planning Group

This group plans Family History Community Outreach using the "My Town" model, encouraging those new to Family History Research to see if their grandparents are related to famous pioneers families of the Puget Sound Region within 2 minutes at Community Functions without having an account or logging in to FamilySearch. This group needs volunteers to meet with the public and to do light research to prepare the "Connected My Town Tacoma/Puget Sound Model" It's fun!
